Drawing upon my own reflections on mortality working with materials I rescue from the San Francisco dump, I created sculptural assemblages in response to the twisting gurney ramps of this former 19th c. mortuary. Relating the abundance of wasted natural woods to the many idealized facsimiles of nature that flow continuously through the waste stream I built totems to these disparities.
